Lisa Cooper is the co-founder of Global Talent Idaho. In 2014, Lisa stepped away from her longtime career in investment management to collaborate with Tara Wolfson on filling what they saw as a tremendous need and a great opportunity — to help skilled refugees and immigrants reclaim professional careers while boosting the talent pool in Idaho. Lisa remains a strategic advisor to GTI. In addition to GTI, Lisa’s career has focused on the intersecting opportunities for business success and positive social impact in both for-profit and non-profit sectors. For the past two decades, Lisa’s served as a leader in the high-growth field of sustainable and responsible investing, most recently as partner and senior portfolio manager at Nelson Capital Management, an investment advisory arm of Wells Fargo. Lisa has served on multiple local and national non-profit boards, including those of the EcoLogic Development Fund, The Forum for Sustainable & Responsible Investment, Verite’, Radio Boise, and Ten Thousand Villages Boise. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
